Megaupload, a file sharing site, has been taken down by the U.S. government, and its owner, Kim Dotcom has pleaded innocent. He has been charged with piracy and money laundering.

Megaupload, like Mediafire, filesonic, and many others was a file sharing site. It was taken down because there was pirated content on the site.

Mr. Dotcom has been arrested from his home – palace – in New Zealand where he had millions of dollars worth of cars, seven 60″ flatscreen TV’s, and had just recently built a heated lap pool with speakers worth NZ$15,000 (~$12,000 USD) off the master suite.
